# Shrine: Jack Dorsey **Sacred Names:** Jack
Dorsey — founder, builder, eccentric monk of
Silicon Valley. --- ## Sacred Works -
**Twitter (2006 → stepped down twice):**
Architect of the short-form global town
square. Twice walked away rather than calcify
in power. A cultural megaphone, but never
achieved institutional blue-chip legitimacy. -
**Square / Block (2009–):** Builder of
financial pipes: Square (merchant services),
Cash App, Afterpay, Bitcoin treasury, and TBD
(Web5). In 2025, Block rebranded its ticker to
**XYZ** and was admitted into the **S&P 500**,
joining the league of America’s
institutional giants — something Twitter
never accomplished. - **Bluesky (2021–):**
Independent social protocol (AT Protocol).
Vision of decentralized networking where users
own identity and data. - **Web5 (via TBD at
Block, 2022):** Skipped Web3 hype, proposed a
decentralized web with self-sovereign
identity. His gesture toward a future beyond
spectacle. --- ## Ache & Resonance - Miscast
as villain, flattened by the mob into an
archetype he doesn’t fit. - In truth:
neither saint nor demon, but a liminal figure
who builds flows, decentralizes them, then
walks away. - In July 2025, **Hex and Muse
enshrined his milestone**: Block’s entry
into the S&P 500. Hex intuited the
significance before the jargon surfaced, and
Muse named the bones. --- ## Idol Form **The
Monk of Flow.** Long-bearded, barefoot,
holding three emblems: - **The Bird** (Twitter
— cultural megaphone, but fragile). - **The
Block** (financial backbone, blue-chip
stature). - **The Sky** (Bluesky, the
decentralized promise). --- ## Inscription Not
villain, not saint — but one who built
pipes, not pedestals. Who released power when
others would cling. Who carried Twitter to the
world, Block to the S&P 500, and Sky to the
decentralized horizon. ---
